I'm headed to EUROPE....again...TODAY. This time it's just for a 2 week visit to visit my twin sister Kelly in Germany. HECK YEAAAAAAA. I'll have my camera gear, iPhone, and ONE piece of little luggage. It's true.

We'll be hitting up some awesome places and I'll be riding LOTS of trains and taking LOTS of photographs. So keep an eye out and follow my shots on Facebook, Twitter, and Instgram!

Gavin is babbling, walking and already ONE!! He is such a good little boy in front of the camera.... remember him last summer here? I feel like I keep saying this, along with everyone else but seriously where does the TIME go? This time we did a little photo shoot at his home in Northern Minnesota. We really lucked out and got 30 degree weather. I've sooo loving it.

Hey Friends,
It's been quite a whirl wind of a week. Yes, the rumors are true...I have moved back to America! I'm now back home in Minnesota.

Sometimes life is crazy and it takes you on a ride that you just didn't plan. This last week I have felt so much love and support from all my friends and family. I am so lucky - that is a truth I can not deny. It is incredibly nice to be home with family again. So, thank you to all of you.

Though I will be going through a lot of changes and sometimes the road seems very bumpy ahead, I am excited for new opportunities and new friends here at home! One thing that surely has NOT changed is my passion and love for photography. I would LOVE to take your photos if you're living here in the US of A!
For all you Norwegian folk, I hope we meet again soon and if you're ever back in the States give me a call for photos!

There is really no other way to describe Matt and Rachel's wedding other than 'wonderful.' Wonderful and lovely, and fabulous, and inspiring, and more. :) I was correct in expecting a lot of tears...tears of JOY of course...but yes, they did last about all day. (That's 'about' with a Canadian accent.) Seriously the amount of LOVE that these two share is incredible. Their love overflows and reaches everyone they know and meet. It was very clear how incredible these two are and how awesome their families are.

Remember their snowy engagement session HERE?

Twin sister Kelly and I jammed all my gear into her Honda and we drove from Washington D.C. to Prince Edward Island. We spent an incredible 3 days at a beautiful home on the red sand beaches. Let me tell you, Island life is freeeeking shweet. Thank you to both the Cutcliffe and Harper families! You made us feel like family. :)

I made a mid-week trip to Duluth and visited Sonja. I took a few shots. I used to think Sonja and I were related. I came to find out we weren't because she wasn't at my family reunion. Oh, how I was so disappointed. :( I still say 'Saum people' are better than others! I think it's something about our hearts.

I was new to school and Lisa was supposed to show me to the bathroom...so we get there and I didn't even have to go. It wasn't that awkward and we best friends ever since that day in Fourth grade. I'm now unable to remember why I even called her Mombajohamba but it seems fitting since she was just MEANT to be a mom. My first time meeting Gavin and meeting up with Lisa and Joel since I had been away in Norway, and it was so apparent that parenthood comes natural to them both. :) It's sooooooo cool too see the spawn of your friends. Gavin was at the moooost adorable age to photograph. Six months. Just able to sit up...barely, and grab his little toes with BIG smiles.
Next time I see him he'll probably be walking. :( Jeepers time flys!

The weather wasn't exactly cooperating with us during Sams photo session. Riiiight when I showed up it started to rain. Of course. ;) We all hung out in their super cool cabin just outside of Park Rapids, MN until the rain stopped. Then it didn't really stop but we decided to dare the sprinkles anyway. And aren't we happy we did!?!
I've known Luke since 10th grade! Life got crazy, we lost touch and then last summer we reconnected and I met his aaamazing cool wife Lindsey. She is the type of girl who lights up the room wherever she is with her simle and laugh. Luke is now an awesome college basketball coach while Lindsey teaches and is also a super rad photographer! The two radiate energy and happiness. Really Sam is one lucky little dude. :)

Up North in Minnesota

I'm not sure it gets better than a sizzling hot day on the lake with two Mostads. ;) I had Haley and Jayce running through grassy fields, balancing on wobbly fences, and jumping off docks during our photo session. I can NOT get over how much these two look exactly like their mother and father. I am not sure how its possible to look like two people ALL at once so much. But they do.

Jen totally gets what I'm all about. Just hangin' and capturing those real life smiles. After we scouted out some nice grassy areas Haley and Jayce gunned it for the lake...I had to be quick to catch them jumping off into the sunset. Aaaah, what a lovely day.

Seriously. Can noooot believe this one is only going into 2nd grade!?!

Boys have fun during photoshoots too. ;)

I can not tell you all how absolutely wonderful my summer has been so far. I am really taking in all the sunshine and family and friends that I can. I'm fairly positive that Minnesota summers are the best.

Roadtrip downtown Stavanger!

I've been waaaaaiting to share this shoot with you guys for what seems like ages! I've been MIA for 3 weeks now because I am back home in the Minnesota HEAT WAVE. I finally found a computer to get back to editing. I had been wanting to do some test shoots to help boost my editorial portfolio. Little by little I'm morphing into that big time photographer who's going to totally blow you away. hehe. One day. :)
So the story behind this b-e-a-utiful and totally rad bright yellow bug is I went 'running' (yep quotes around that word), well, I didn't get too far into the first song on my iPod and spotted the bug. I tracked down the owner, who by the is just as cool as the car itself, and he was completely up for letting me steal it for a night! whooohooo! And of course I was lucky enough to also track down some gorgeous models living in Stavanger to put it all together.

Vanessa and Eirik + One

Vanessa and Eirik - A gorgeous couple, deeply in love, who couldn't be happier to be carrying a child. After years of trying they will soon (Mid-August!!) be welcoming their sweet baby boy into the world. Hearing Vanessa tell me their story just gave me goosebumps and then beam with joy! :) Seriously tho, ummm...Vanessa can you teach me how to be as cool as you?
Vanessa recently opened her own yoga and dance studio in Sola! Check out Studio Vanessa on Facebook HERE. After seeing her HEADSTAND at 33 weeks pregnant you know she is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. We started out near the Three Swords in Stavanger then headed to their cozy home for some more intimate shots. First outfit was a cool as heck ONSIE! YES! This is how I know these people ROCK.

I'm not sure kids get any cuter than these guys. Maybe it was the bbq wings and hot dogs we had on the beach that got me... I'm not sure. ;) During my last getaway to Oslo I met up with the Pettersens downtown in Asker. I've been incredibly lucky to be able to photograph cool and amazing families lately. Each time I am more and more amazed by each families uniqueness and the oooodels of love they display. It was so fun to watch these 3 little ones playing together and see their individual personalities revealed to me.

I LOVE hide and seek. Who doesn't? really?

I'm CRAZY busy this week with shooting and finishing up edits before I head out for the States. I CAN NOT get enough of this little Eva's hair. How lucky is she? Really? Are you kidding me? wow.

Faith + Ethan = Brilliant and Cute!

The last week has been a whirlwind of meeting more aaaaamazing families! I got to hang out with Faith and Ethan at their house, meet their Pati (Grandma) who was visiting all the way from Malaysia. We all admitted that it wasn't exactly hot weather but it wasn't raining so we hit up the beach! We even dipped our toes in! Yea, I touched salt water. :)
Once again, every single word that came out of these gorgeous kids was suuuuuper cute because they have the most adorable accent. I really wanted to record them just talking to me the whole time. One day when I have kids can someone teach them to speak with a British accent?! Please?!!

Jumping for Joy!

Being away from friends and family is one of the hardest aspects of living across the world. Being a twin, many people always ask that same question "What's it like being a twin?" I usually answer with something like, "I don't know anything different." Well, now I suppose that's not exactly true. I've been 'separated' from Kelly for over 3 years now. She moved across the USA multiple times to be with her most amazing hunk of a stud muffin, Ryan. :) He now claims to speak twin...although the jury is still out. Yes, it's true that I really feel part of me is missing. Though I can't really put a finger on it, I definitely feel it when Kel and I are together again. I spose I smile more, laugh more, relax and enjoy life a little more when I'm with my twin sister.
So, when Kelly and Ryan came to visit me in Norway it was soooo nice to hang out and finally show her what my life has been like way over here in Norway the last couple years. Yep, frolicking on a beach with our coats on. ;) We literally jumped for joy. All of us. And of course I had to take a few shots of them because they are my favorite models.

Hey Norway friends!
I just want to keep you updated and let you know that if you're thinking about scheduling a photo shoot NOW is the time to do it! I will be out of the country from June 29th - September 1st.
I am so lucky to visit my family in Minnesota and while I'm at it I'll be traveling throughout parts of the US and Canada photographing awesome people, children, and weddings.

I was lucky enough to meet up with one of my original 'Real Housewives of Oslo' friends when I was in the city last. I hadn't seen Per for over a year, not to mention Shelley is expecting another little one! Whooohooo! The sun stayed out for our entire photo session and it was nice to hang out with the fam.

I'vw gotta tell you tho I love this family - they're half Danish, half Australian and speak with the best Aussie accent! Apparently it's a bit of a country accent? :) I wonder if Per will have it too?! AAaaahhh adorable.

I spent an awesome day in Oslo with my friend Ampy and one rad set of twins and their little sister. My first time photographing identical twins! It's seriously so cool to watch them interact. They're completely different from me and my sister...it's got to be the whole boy thing. However, I must say Sophie is the biggest fire cracker of them all! She's totally the one starting the wrestling matches! hehe.

We started the day having PANCAKES downtown then hung out enjoying the bit of sunshine doing what kids do best. Living in their own world of make-believe. Yes, I joined in and wore an elephant hat. Check it out on Facebook HERE!

A Little Stavanger Update.

Hey ya'll!
I'm back in Stavanger after a week long vacation with my most favorite people evaaaar! My twin seeester, her hubby and my hubby! We did all the touristy stuff then took the train to Oslo to see more touristy stuff and visit my cool friends. Then darkness covered me and I was struck down with sickness (Kelly my twin totally passed it on to all of us. ;) Anyways, i'm recovered and I even got to shoot a couple family sessions while I was in the big bad city of Oslo. IT WAS SO FUN!

"Stavanger Stud Muffin"

I actually still use the cool phrase 'Stud Muffin.' Although after my photo shoot with Ethan, I now realize that maybe it's not the cool thing to say any more. I'll have to switch to 'Cool Dude' now because that's what this guy is! In celebration of Ethans confirmation I was invited over to his house and his neato warehouse to take photos. Seriously this guy has such an awesome imagination! He reminded me of myself back in the day. I used to spend hours away in my land of make-believe. Crushed glass on the ground - obviously stolen diamonds. A tiny creek - could've been a raging river I had to devise a quirky plan to cross.

Ethan is all about the video game 'Half-Life.' Yes, it involves a crowbar. Ethan and his Mom are two of those really cool people who totally get this whole photography thing! Be Yourself! Capture who YOU are. So Ethan was totally pumped to show me his balloon savoy skills, his fluffy cat Guzel, and his super cool red crowbar. I don't think I know a cooler 14-year-old?

Nettverk Stavanger

I attended and took photographs at the Nettverk Stavanger Mixer a couple weeks back. It was awesome! Nettverk Stavanger is a great new network to build strategic relationships. It's hip, it's fun, it's free and best of all you have the chance to make connections throughout all industries in the Rogaland area and beyond.

If you at the Mixer downtown on the 8th, chances are that I photographed you. Seriously I was all over that place. The speakers were amazing and honestly Esa Ikäheimonen of Seadrill was so super cool. As a non-Norwegian doing business in Norway it was nice to hear others thoughts on life, work, culture and the hyttes here!

Iceland: part one
Simply stated, my trip to Iceland was...cool. Literaly it was very cold. Cold and breathtaking beautiful. It was awesome to meet up with my twin cousins Liv and Anne and take a little drive down the Ring Road. Okay, I didn't drive. It was almost all Liv. :)
The sights were absolutely INCREDIBLE. We covered ourselves in wool and ventured from Reykjavik through to the southeast. I've come to really really respect and appreciate nature photographers! These photos barely give you a glimpse at how spectacular the landscape is in Iceland. But I took a stab at it. Apparently there is a reason why I mostly shoot people. ;)

This was my absolute favorite part of Iceland. It very well might be the coolest place on earth. It's hard to tell from my photos I think, as I make a sad nature photographer but the way the waves were crashing with so much power and the light and the black sand and the snow and the incredible rock formations...seriously freeking amazing. Kirkjufjara, near Vik.

So it's supposed to be here. We went to the beach today and while it was absolutely beautiful, it was a tad bit too much of grey sky with a brisk chilly wind to completely feel like Spring. I did see a kid flying a kite though...so it must be true. :) I am in hopes of that sunny day soon! On other matters...I haven't even touched my Iceland photos yet. I know. Horrible. I promise to start this week.

Families get bigger, babies turn into toddlers, and love grows immeasurably. You might remember little Axel and this fabulous family from last year...now he's not so little and he has a new little brother, Seb! I met Beth and Herman at their home in Oslo and we had a fun time hanging out once again. We were lucky and the sun even peaked out to melt a bit of snow in the city. We even did a little reenactment at the fire hall. I seriously love this family.

When I walked into Beth and Hermans apartment I could have sworn Axel hadn't grown a bit in over a year! Then I realized it was SEB! Seb wore the exact same itty bitty hat that Axel wore during our photo shoot. Adorable or what?

Some days it's a struggle to stay inspired. Especially on cold rainy days. I've spent a lot of time, ok....way too much time.....perusing photography blogs and being inspired by others work. After going through some of my own work I was reminded why I have such a deep passion for photography. It's the people. Through photography I have met some of the most INCREDIBLE people - friends, co-workers, children on the street, old men drinking coffee. I am so thankful for and cherish the connections I make with people through travelling. It's so rewarding and fills my heart with oh so much joy when I see that photo of those group of boys playing futbol in between palm trees and the sweetest old ladies giving a goodbye kiss. Those kids, men, and women are the inspiration I see in the world.

Happy Valentines Day!
I spent last week in Oslo and dang was it good to be back in the city! I've been dreaming up a photo shoot at The Nighthawk Diner for such a long time so I knew I finally had to release my inspiration. You might recognize this lovely lady from a shoot awhile back but we added Marcus for this love shoot. ;) Marcus is the drummer in the kick ass band 'The Shitsez.' They've recently released a new album and are touring. whoooop whooop.

La Frenchy Festivale

I met up with some fabulous ladies last week and shot some images for the upcoming La Frenchy Festivale at Tou Scene in Stavanger. We actually did our shoot at Tou Scene which as you can see is AAAAmazing. The coolest chairs, old radios, stages, and windows! Celine and I shot this one together and soon realized that when you shoot past 4pm in Norway in January there is No Light. Yep, we're looking forward to the all day sun in the summer.

On to the lovely and very talented Singer Jean Jameson. Come on out to the Festivale to see the neatest event in Stavanger.

Way back when it was 2010 I hopped over to New York with my favorite peeps. It was colder than I expected...however for my first trip the lights, people, cabs, pizza, martinis, coffee, metro, and Christmas decorations did not disappoint. Aaah, can't wait to go again!

In other news...yes, it's true! I'm back in Norway. So, call me up if you're here or leave me a email message if you're not in Europe and not into international rates. ;) I'm planning on getting full swing into my photography and looking forward to hours upon hours of editing. Yeees.

Rachel and Matt: Engaged

They're Canadians eh! And they freeeeking rock my winter boots off.

One from Prince Edward Island the other from Vancouver... they were some how destined to meet in the middle of the country, Winnepeg. Rachel is a friend from the college and Studio One days who I secretly/not so secretly looked up to because she was sooo full of energy, spice, CONFIDENCE, and had the coolest high heels in town. When I finally met Matt I could instantly tell that he was the pea to her pod. I'm not even kidding these two have chemistry and just seeing the way Matt adores Rachel touches my heart and gives me a smile almost as big as hers.
After trying for months to schedule an engagement shoot with these two it finally happened in good ol' Grand Forks, ND. The roads were slick and it was freezing eh! It must've been their northern blood that let them brave the cold and run outside in tights and heels.

I wish I could fast forward to their wedding on P.E.I. this summer. It's going to be so amazing, full of looooooove, really hot, and I will most likely cry like a newborn baby.

Kelsey & Evans Debut!

Photos of this big sister and little brother have been FAR over due! This last week I was so lucky to spend a few days with Kelsey and Evan, my niece and nephew, in Colorado! Kelsey was just over a year old when I lived out in Boulder...seven years ago. eeeeeek! I can't believe she's now eight and Evan is no longer a chubby little baby but an incredibly smart and full of energy 5-year-old. ( In January) Both of these two have voices of angels and I see a mini Taylor Swift and the next Michael Bublé in the making. Well, we took a little stroll around the neighborhood right before school started...what a refreshing way to start the day. :)

It's been special and wonderful to watch both of you grow up! I miss you already.

I was lucky enough to assist Mitch and Jena on a hometown wedding in Park Rapids this summer. I went to high school with both Celeste and Garret so of course their wedding was a complete blast!!! Not to mention that both of these guys are just awesome. I cry a bit at every wedding I shoot....but I seriously was tearin' up left and right on this day. This couple is honest, down to earth, inspiring, loving, and imaginative. We got to shoot at some very fun locations and we ended up getting them into a potato field! ha. So fitting for PR isn't it?

Ocean City, Maryland that is. My all time favorite models....Kel and Ry! Yes, Ryan drove us the whole way from D.C. to the Maryland coast. There were a lot of firsts this trip....Ryans first time in the ocean...all of our first times eating large boiled crabs....um...me being in Maryland...hellloooo! We spent our first hours at the beach diving under perfect waves, squishing our feet in the sand, and then we got to the good stuff. The photo shoot on the beach of course! Kelly and Ryan are such great sports and do whatever I tell them to do. I'm not lying when I say that these two are always like this...in love. Isn't that how high school sweet hearts are anyways? :) Miss you two already.

We got together for photos riiiight as the sun was starting to go down and we had that nice warm glow. It was so perfect! The entire family seemed to be so comfortable in front of the camera and it shows. True happiness and fun shining right through. The Welds were the last of my photo adventure in D.C. I was incredibly sad to leave. Sad to leave my twin and go back to the singlton life. But the plus is I got to spend awesome quality time with everyone and make some new friends with good hearts and good souls!
We ended this shoot with a quick stop by Walgreens for some hydration. We happened to catch a nice old crazy lady with sock monkey pajama pants! Does it get any cooler? I think not.

More of the D.C. families! I got to tour Alexandria, VA while taking photos of the Adams family. Seriously, what a fun bunch. Everything was new and exciting while roaming the streets of 'King Street.' Evan was such a perfect dude to photograph...what a happy baby! Shannon and Jared have been together since the 10th grade!! Wow. Adams Family = Full of love. Full of energy.
After searching the alley ways we ended our shoot once again on the Potomac river. Well, actually I put my camera away finally and we went for a scrumptious dinner downtown together! Thanks guys. :)

I've been hangin out in Washington D.C. the last few days visiting my twin sister and brother-in-law! I have had the perfect opportunity to meet very cool men and women stationed at Fort Belvoir....and their families. Tracie and Paul had Brody just 2 months ago. We had to wrap Brody up in his dads American flag and uniform. This flag is special because it hung in Pauls room while he was stationed in Afghanistan. Later, we braved the D.C. heat by the Potomac! I could just see the love pouring out for this little guy.

It is incredible how much trash is left behind after a Saturday night in the parks downtown Oslo. So, we got up at 4am to capture it at its' finest moment. The lovely, creative and talented Charolette and Erne did an INCREDIBLE job modeling for me. It was a blast and even though it was a beautiful day in Oslo we did our shoot indoors. I had been itching to get a few studio type fashion shots and thanks to these girls, mission accomplished. Takk Takk! They pretty much styled themselves. I asked them to model for me because I loved their style and knew they would bring awesomeness to the plate. Next up even more shots and outfits. I think this native Wisconsinite and Icelandic beauty will be my go-to girls. I'm just waiting for our next coffee and model shoot.

I'm in love with the £10. It's the hummingbird. They always remind me of my lovely grandmother. One of the last times I saw her she was out at the farm sitting in her chair and she was surrounded by hummingbirds! I looked out the window that her chair faced and they were zooming allllllll around. It was stunning and beautiful....just like she was. :)

Much of our time in London was spent walking around and trying to get from one destination to the next. However, I didn't realize how HUGE London is! It took us 45 minutes on the bus to get just a few miles. I didn't mind so much though because seriously...who doesn't just love those double decker buses? The subway system is a whole different story. I was so thankful I've gotten used to taking trains and subways from living in Norway because dang that underground is complicated and confusing...not to mention PACKED. I love what Lydia said while we were stopped on a seriously filled subway, 'This could be a deoderant commercial.' How do Londoners do it?

Ready for a zillion more London photos? This one goes on and on. Instead of touring the churches or castles we had to hit up one of the infamous markets on Saturday in London. There was so much to see I couldn't even focus...however my camera did! :) I was split up from the girls for about 2 hours because I got lost taking photos and ended up buying a SHWEET old film camera from the 1950's. (Yashica 44) Now I just have to get some film! I have been thinking of going back to film for fun and because it's so classic and lovely. I also bought a new dress and pair of boots...how could I not in London? Honestly?! As one of the fashion capitals of the world, it was definitely cool just walking around and seeing what people were wearing. I love the styles, love the accents, love it all! The Portobello Market near Notting Hill was definitely interesting and PACKED with people and weird things. Meat, beads, antiques, colorful scarves, silver and much more.

I ran into these lovely old men on the street. They told me they were just out taking a stroll...in their old English army uniforms. ;) The metals they have there are for good behavior. They live in a veteran retirement home just down the street. Coolest accents ever!

I happen to spot a Lewis Carroll collection on opening weekend of Alice in Wonderland. I should have bought it. Just saw the 3-D version of the movie tonight! Brings back so many great memories from performing the one-act in high school. 'I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.'

I had an awesome trip to LONDON! My good friend Lydia and I flew over for the weekend and met up with Diana who had to make the long trip from the U.S. They put up with me always lagging behind because I could never stop taking photos. (Thank you girls! :) I have OH SO MANY MORE photos to share but for now here are some of the 'sites' downtown London. I had been dying to get a shot of the London Eye, Big Ben and the London Bridge....mission accomplished.
I have definitely been hit by the travel bug now. Next stop...er...work, then paycheck.....then ...Italy? Spain? :) What do you think?

This is going back to summer. But it's blowing and freezing here in Oslo so I needed some warm, touristy images to smile at. One day after class I took a stroll downtown to the new and oh so beautiful Opera House. Right on the water, it's stunning and when the sun shines you can barely look at the thing it's so BRIGHT. Now...grey sky...not as pretty. But the clean cut lines are still there!

Last weekend was beautiful and suprise suprise the sun was shining! (This weekend...a whole different story) I met up with my new shooting buddies for some gooood coffee and a shooting extravaganza! I borrowed Priscillas Nikon camera and it REALLY tested my photography skills since I'm a Canon girl. I could barely use the thing and felt like I was learning all over! It was so frustrating, but when I got the shots home there were a few good ones. =) We tried to focus on light and reflections through glass (posting those next) before we froze our buns off and lost the light downtown at Aker Bryge. By the way...exciting news coming up sooooooon!

If I had to choose a family to become a part of I'd choose this COOL family. I think Beth and Herman win the award for coolest parents! So loving, open, caring...you can see it in all they say and do.
Earlier I took some photos of Axel, last week we met up to get some photos of the whole family together and big sister Embla!!! Embla was in Norway over the holidays and lives in New Zealand...which makes for the most ADORABLE ACCENT ever. Everything that came from her mouth, whether it be English or Norwegian (she knows more Norwegian than me), I couldn't help but get warm fuzzies.
We stayed in for a few shots and braved the cold outside for some adventure shots! :)

Such good sports...they were totally up for sitting in the display window! :)

Goals and... fashion!

Happy 2010! Believe it or not I actually stress over the fact that I have not made a blog post in soooooo long. To make up for it....check out this extra long beauty! I have so many photos from 2009 I still need and want to share with you. Soo, since the new year is often a time of resolutions this post is dedicated to just that. I've never actually followed through on a new years resolution...tho I'm not sure I have ever really made one either. With that being said, I think I will focus more on 'GOALS' rather than resolutions.

I have goals I want to achieve this year and I can only hope I will stay motivated through this cold and ohhh sooo dark time in Norway to keep them. People say it's easier to stay on track when you tell others or when you write it down...so here it goes.....
Desi's goals for 2010 --------->
1. Get a job. (Seems simple enough, but not so easy in todays economy or when living in Norway and speaking only a little Norwegian)

2.Launch my website! (I am soooo pumped for this one! Being as I am incredibly indecisive this has been taking me ages to desgin. But lets keep an eye out for it in January.)

3. Be confident. (This is something I REALLY need to work on. I need confidence in myself, in my design, and in my photography...pretty much all 'round. I'm also wondering...how do you actually GAIN confidence? I'm asking for your help and tips on this one. :)

4. Speak more Norwegian. (I believe getting a job will help me the most here. However I know I need to work harder at speaking, understanding, and studying Norsk. I have wanted to be bilingual for as long as I can remember....either that or ever since my sister spoke fluent Spanish and I thought it was sooo cool. I'm not going to say I want to be fluent in Norwegian by the end of this year...I'm trying to be realistic here!)

5. Blog. (Every professional photographer has a blog. I hope once I get my website rolling I can keep my portfolio work there and post more of my life and photos here! So, in a more resolution fashion...I am going to attempt to make a blog posting at least once a week! It does not have to be amazing or profound...just a simple post. But lets hope some amazing things come from it and me, eh?)

On to photos. I think it was actually WAY back in October I had the AMAZING opportunity to assist Gry Traaen on a fashion shoot for the Norwegian magazine, Det Nye. I am obviously now really in love with fashion photography. It was a blast and it was incredible to watch Gry work her stuff. I got the chance to work with a great group of girls - models, make-up artists, hair stylists, and neato dogs!!!!
I snapped a few shots with my little point and shoot...as I was actually assisting... so the shots aren't the best but good enough to share with you! Wish me luck on trying to get more into the fashion photography business? :)

Axel - the Norwegian/Kiwi. Aaaadorable. He is such a happy baby. Maybe it's because of his heritage or maybe it's just because his mom and dad are completely in love with him! Either or we had such a lovely day roaming around Oslo and we were lucky enough to have a beautiful day in Frogner park with soooo many falling golden leaves. Axel was mezmorized by every one of them. He was just strong enough to push himself up on his own... a perfect stage to capture. So much fun!

Just wanted to post a few photos of my friends Jena and Mitch! I have been friends with Mitch since high school and Jena since college. It was actually me and my sister Kelly who introduced the two and bam...we produced a lovely couple! :) Jena is also one of the first people who inspired me to learn lots more about photography as she herself and Mitch are photographers and designers. I was not their photographer..I was in the wedding! (It was a BLAST) Megan from http://www.meganphoto.com/ was their AWESOME photographer. Leon and Kris had a beautiful wedding in Fergus, Minnesota way back in July! I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to shoot with Dan from Blue Stone Photography again. It was a perfect day and near perfect shoot.

Slight hiccup = brides dress zipper ripped = brides worst nightmare! Kris had a smart wedding party who tied up her dress with some fishing line until they got it permanently sewn! But can you tell with this beautiful bride and dress?!

I have been without my laptop for over a week now so surfing the internet and uploading has been a bit more challenging, however I need to make my statement. :) I am gone from the USA. It's been quite awhile since I've last made a post! I'm working full-time at the Ralph Engelstad Arena now so I have not been taking as many photos. Horrible excuse I know.

It was way back during early October and it was Jane's first visit to the United States. We had to go
to Itasca, right! It was one of the most beautiful days this fall. We rented tandem bikes which was sooooo fun. (sorry didn't get a pic of 'em myself) We wandered around the park enjoying the leaves, lakes, trails, beauty of everything...and of course taking quite a few photos.

From the side of East Grand Forks that I never knew about...the Marcott's! Chuck and Melissa have aaaadorable Addison. They have a great backyard full of bicycles, fields, an old truck, barns, and a big old slide.
Side note. I currently think the Sheryl Crow song "Here Comes the Sun" is amazing for slide shows. Especially for little ones. I'm slightly addicted.
Marcott's - I hope you like! It's on it's way. :)

I work with Jake during UND hockey games here in Grand Forks. I guess we're both video and graphic geeks! (ha..no offense Jake ;) I'm so happy that Robin and Jake found each other. I laughed all day and almost cried 4 times during their wedding. Of course beforehand we went downtown and they posed with Jake's shweeeet red bike. It was so much fun and laid-back. I even made it into the program and got a flower! Robin and Jake...you're too nice. Congratulations.

Medora & Shandon = Married

Medora and Shandon's wedding was awesome. I got to do their engagement photos so I was looking forward to their wedding for awhile. They had such a cool getaway car! Who doesn't love an old Impala?!? We took some photos outside the church and even made a run down to the park. Cool bridge, nice trees, beautiful people. Lovely. Thanks to Medora and Shandon for being so great!

The gusts of wind had some worried about having a wedding on an Island....but the day of came and Marci and Tom's wedding turned out to be georgous. Just a small group of people on the Island of Calypso in Canada. Oh...and the sunset was awesome too! Once again....a beautiful wedding.

B-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l. That's what I have to say. Shawn and I went to high school together and I was thrilled when he asked me to photograph his wedding ! Amanda and Shawn you are truly awesome loving people.
It was blazing hot the 19th and some of the bridesmaids had the sunburns to prove it....but could it get more perfect than a blue sky day in Duluth, Minnesota?! Everywhere I turned there was an awesome photo opportunity. I couldn't put my camera down!
Bring on more weddings in Duluth!! I love it there. :)

First off.........I'm HORRIBLY behind on blogging! I apoligize to my avid bloggers. Thanks for checking in on me.
On to the photos! Recognize Gavin from before? He's the cutie in my "Young Eyes" photograph. He now has a little brother...Trevor! I attempted to set up a mini-studio and use window light to get some neat shots!

This is what happens when you get near a 2-year-old! WATER on your lens! NOOO! It ended up neat though! :)
